My March On for Brain Injury 2020 Rochester Fundraising Page

Kaiti Pierce
I support March On for Brain Injury in my dad's memory and for all BIANYS has done to support our family and so many others throughout New York State. It is my hope that events like these will bring awareness to our communities and educate people on the complex issues people with brain injuries face every day.
In 1997 my dad sustained a TBI when he fell off the back of a work truck moving equipment at a job site. It wasn't until he began having issues with short term memory, fatigue, lack of focus, and ability to control emotions that we decided to seek help. Our family's General Practitioner referred us to a Neurologist who diagnosed him with Post Traumatic Concussion Syndrome.
Frank Pierce was more than just a person with a brain injury. He was a Husband, a Father, an Advocate, and a Friend. He was active in the Rochester Chapter/support group and later a dedicated BIANYS Board Member. He helped start new support groups, attended numerous health fairs, distributed bike helmets to children in need, volunteered at local agencies, and co-founded a local day program for individuals with brain injuries.
Through advocacy, education, research, and community support, your donation to the Brain Injury Association of NYS brings help, hope and healing to families like mine and millions of others.
